Welcome to LET’S PANIC ABOUT BABIES! If you’re new to the site, you may be wondering several things:

How did I get pregnant?
What is this thing inside me?
What’s a “baby”?
What in hell is this web site and who do these people think they are?

There, there. We’re here to answer all your questions. Hold off writing us that all-caps angry email and just read for a bit.

We all know that pregnancy and the motherhood that ensues can be a strange, confusing time in a woman’s life. To watch your body construct a virtual stranger inside itself is alarming enough, but then to survive the inevitable and dramatic birth (spoiler alert for you pregnant ladies: there will be screaming) only to find that you now have to take care of this teeny red-faced creature whom you find yourself loving beyond all ability to reason?!  WHAT SADIST CAME UP WITH THIS PLAN?

Here’s your answer: God. Or Nature, for you free-wheeling, godless types.

See? We’ve already answered one of your most pressing existential questions, and you’ve only just begun to explore this fascinating, fact-clogged website. As our “About” page explains so well that we want to quote ourselves, “Alice Bradley and Eden M. Kennedy have created the only website that accurately explains the journey from morning sickness to third-degree tears to keeping that baby alive for a year — or more! LET’S PANIC ABOUT BABIES will serve as a salve to the mystery and degradation of this most female of challenges. Its authors may not have “science” on their side, but what they do have is far more valuable: a heady mélange of female intuition, sentence-forming know-how, and the achingly vivid memories of their own gestational journeys and unending motherhoods.”

God, we’re good.
